Guide Shelter Report (GSR): Essential Knowledge for Security Officers

This course equips learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to respond appropriately during a terrorist incident or other serious security threat. Using the Guide, Shelter, Report (GSR) framework, learners will develop an understanding of how to recognise potential dangers, assess their surroundings, and take appropriate action to protect themselves and others.

You will explore how to safely guide people away from immediate danger, identify suitable shelter when evacuation is not possible, and communicate accurate, timely information to emergency services. By the end of the course, you will be better prepared to recognise threats, respond effectively to changing situations, and take appropriate action that could help protect lives.
